Biography

Mario Weigand was born in 1983 in Bad Hambourg, Germany. He is a diploma physicist at the University of Frankfurt. His interest in astronomy and physics was awakened when he was 11 years old, resulting in his first big telescope only one year later. The combination with photography led to his current motivation: high resolution imaging of the solar system bodies and the documentation of dynamic processes. The focus lies on the seasonal phenomena on Mars, the changes in the atmosphere of Venus and high resolution lunar photography. Modern digital imaging techniques and new methods in image processing make this possible.
