Biography

Ebru Sidar was born in 1975 in Trabzon (Turkey). With banker parents, she spent her childhood travelling from town to town across the whole of Turkey. She then completed her studies at the geology engineering department at Ankara University where she finally remained. When she discovered photography, she saw traditionalism as an obstacle to the development of her practice, standing up for a journalistic or illustrative approach and found a fabulous medium for illustrating dreams, imagination and emotion. She actively began her practice as photographer in February 2005, always remaining ready to learn and hoping to keep forever the excitation and innocence of the "amateur" photographer.
