After his studies in photography at the Beaux-Arts of Montréal, Xabi Etcheverry has worked as a set photographer for the cinema. Parting for a short stay in the land of the Rising Sun, he would stay there for more than a year.
Works
His principal work is the series "Avoir 20 ans à Tokyo ," an album of black and white photography created between September 2002 and June 2004, that shows a city of extremes and paradoxes. Xabi Etcheverry is currently working on a new series, again on Japan, which seeks the hidden faces of Japanese society …Also, he is collaborating with the painter Luciano di Concetto in a series of portraits, mixing photography and painting.
