Virgilio Ferreira started his photographic journey at the International School of Cinema of Cuba. He later collaborated in a number of European institutes, notably at Glasgow and Paris. Influenced by Diane Arbus, he works on the behaviour of difference, at the boundary of rejection and risk.
Works
This series has notably been exposed at the Portuguese Centre of Photography (CPF) in 2003, at the Imagolucis Gallery of Porto in 2004, as well as at Meetings of Photography at Arles and at the International Photo Festival, Knokke-Heist (Belgium). It was made the topic of the book " Rainbow by Virgilio Ferreira ".
