Biography
Richard Aujard was born in Hasparren in the Basque country. With a passion for photography he became an assistant for the Vogue studio at 19 years-old. He then decided to take a new direction regularly photographing artists such as Béatrice Dalle, Joeystarr, Eric Cantona, Mickey Rourke and boxing legends… These photographs were published in numerous magazines in France and abroad such as Photo, Paris Match, Première, Optimum, GQ UK and Vanity Fair… Fascinated by the cinema, Richard produced two short films selected by numerous festivals: “Question d’honneur” (Question of Honour) in 1998 and “Vendetta” in 2004. Richard produced his first full-length film, a police-thriller, « l’absolue perfection du crime » (The Perfect Crime). Richard travels throughout the world searching for new faces and has published several works: “The Harley Davidson Legend” in 1989, “Mexicana” in 1996, “Boxing” in 1997, “L’armée française” (The French Army) in 1998, “Béatrice Dalle face à l’objectif” (Béatrice Dalle in Front of the Lense) in 2006 and “Champions!” in 2006. Richard is currently preparing two new works: “Nomad’s Land Mongolie” (Nomad’s Land Mongolia) with Action Against Hunger and a book about the NTM tour. “Sophistication makes me feel uncomfortable.
