The Greatest

About this photograph :
The Greatest
The boxing champion Muhammad Ali is known for his outstanding record but also for his unorthodox style, political stance and for speaking his opinion. Elected ‘Sportsman of the Century’ by an assembly of international journalists, he became a myth. It was a privilege and an expression of confidence for Gaffney to be designated Ali’s personal photographer from 1977-78.That season once again Muhammad Ali triumphed. However the boxer was on his way out and officially retired the following year. These photographs of the boxer are of his last hours of glory. Whether training, in the ring or exalted by the crowd of admirers Ali gave his all to retain his nickname, ‘The Greatest.’
